Steven Spielberg's Terra Nova loses David Fury, but gains an ornery badass
We’re not sure if it’s time to start calling Steven Spielberg’s time-traveling dinosaur series Terra Nova “troubled” yet, but today comes the news that after several rewrites, production delays, and being bumped from its January 2011 debut to next fall, the show has now also lost executive producer David Fury (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Lost, 24). Fury reportedly had “creative differences” he could not resolve with Brannon Braga, who is now Terra Nova’s sole writing executive producer. What the hell: We’ve certainly used the word “troubled” for less, so let’s go with that. Speaking of euphemisms, let’s just say that Braga was a “divisive” writer on Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise whose most recent high-concept gamble was the “cult” series FlashForward, which was canceled after “failing to deliver on its promise.” That Braga is now the lone driving force behind Terra Nova is certainly “interesting.”
