The celebrities lying to celebrities reality series will run through at least 2029.

Treachery abounds as Peacock signs on for three more rounds of The Traitors

Chicanery, mendacity and famous people desperately trying to act innocent all had a good day on Wednesday, as Peacock announced that The Traitors will ply its sneaky trade for at least three more seasons. Hosted by the clearly enjoying his life Alan Cumming, The Traitors sees a gaggle of celebrities (from the B to the D-list) milling about Scotland’s Ardross Castle and trying to ferret out just which of them are dirty, no good liars. (That sounds harsh, but the show does call the two competing groups the “Faithful” and the “Traitors.”)

The reality series, which has pitted everyone from Ron Funches to K-Pop star Eric Nam to Bob the Drag Queen against each other in a  gauntlet of deductive reasoning, had already been renewed for its fifth season, but today’s announcement assures at least three more. Host Cumming will return for all three seasons and is no doubt plotting out his best finery for the occasion. 

The bulk renewal wasn’t exactly a shock, as The Traitors‘ last season took home a record seven Emmy awards (including Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program for Cumming), while the show’s fourth go-’round scored its highest ratings to date. In addition, the show’s all-civilian spinoff series, The Traitors: New Blood (also hosted by Cumming) premieres with its first two episodes on Thursday, September 17 on NBC, with Peacock airing the series the next day.
