The Vulture
Who he is: The Vulture, a.k.a. Adrian Toomes
His power: No powers, but Toomes has access to a wide array of weapons and equipment assembled from salvaged Chitauri tech—most notably his wing harness, which he can operate by remote control.
His story: Once just a blue collar salvage operator, helping to clean up New York in the wake of the alien invasion in The Avengers, Toomes broke bad when the Tony Stark-backed Damage Control haughtily kicked him and his guys off the job, potentially ruining his company. Stealing several pieces of salvaged Chitauri weaponry, Toomes and his crew repurposed themselves as high-tech arms dealers, a practice that brought him into conflict, in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with Stark’s protege, Spider-Man. (Who also happened to be the guy taking Toomes’ daughter, Liz, to homecoming, because Peter Parker just can’t stop mixing it up with his classmates’ evil dads.)
Attempting to rob Stark’s personal armory as it was being transported away from Avengers Tower, Vulture was ultimately stopped by Spidey—whose identity he had previously deduced—causing the plane they were both on to crash. Almost killed by instabilities in his harness, Toomes was saved at the last minute by Peter, and is currently serving time.
Played by: Michael Keaton
Currently, Vulture is: In jail, keeping quiet about Spider-Man’s secret identity for the sake of his family.
Where will we see him next? Toomes is still alive, so it’s not impossible we’ll get a Keaton cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2.
