Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste

Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson aren’t really trying to find the guy who killed Chazmo the Totino’s mascot in their new Super Bowl ad. As the two I Think You Should Leave regulars and a few requisite children prepare to send Chazmo and a go-bag of frozen rolls back to his home planet, something malfunctions on his spaceship, killing the poor pizza-loving extraterrestrial. The kids are understandably distraught—imagine E.T. just randomly dying—but Robinson and Richardson “didn’t know him as well… so it’s not as sad for us.” For 50 seconds they thought there were monsters on the world, but apparently that revelation wasn’t so life-changing after all. They still have doubles and triples of their pizza rolls, so who cares about that silly alien anyway?

It’s fitting that Totino’s would partner with Robinson—a former SNL writer—as the company’s apparently brain-altering pizza rolls have previously been featured in at least two beloved skits from Studio 8H.

When Robinson isn’t busy guzzling down microwave treats, he’s also been working on his upcoming HBO comedy The Chair Company. Robinson will write, star in, and executive produce the half-hour show, with Don’t Look Up director Adam McKay and I Think You Should Leave collaborator Zach Kanin signed on as EPs. The official logline of the show, which, like this commercial, sounds a lot like an extended Tim Robinson sketch, reads: “After an embarrassing incident at work, a man named William Ronald Trosper (Robinson) finds himself investigating a far-reaching conspiracy.” Mysterious workplaces are pretty hot right now. Who knows—maybe just HBO landed itself the next Severance.
