It’s good to be Shane Gillis. No controversy could slow him down, no problematic comment could stop Saturday Night Live from inviting him back to host after already firing him. And of course, Netflix has invested big, hosting both his comedy specials and his sitcom. (A second comedy special commissioned by Netflix in 2024 hasn’t yet materialized.) On Tuesday, the streamer shared a Tires season two teaser ahead of the premiere on June 5.

Tires follows Will (co-creator Steven Gerben) as he tries to turn around his father’s auto repair business while suffering “constant torture” from his cousin and employee Shane. Per the second season synopsis, “After the unexpected success of their big marketing idea, Will and Shane rush to grow personally and professionally without fully realizing the cost of doing business.” It’s also good to be Shane in the Tires season two teaser, as he enjoys the flush of success. However, the bonus he gets from Will isn’t enough to accommodate his “new lifestyle.” Gerben and Gillis can barely get through the clip without giggling at each other as they trade quips and insults.

Gerben and Gillis co-write the series with their co-creator McKeever (McKeever and Gillis produce via their Dad Sick Productions banner). Tires also stars Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias. And speaking of controversial comedians platformed by Netflix, the second season will once again feature guest star Andrew Schulz, who hosted such illustrious figures as Donald Trump and Alex Jones on his podcast. This is despite recently telling The Hollywood Reporter that acting is “unbelievably boring” and that he’d prefer not to do it, realizing, “‘Oh shit, I can get successful just sharing the thing I care most about? I don’t have to be some brother who’s half r******d on a sitcom? I could just do the thing that I care about?'” Glad Netflix is hiring guys with true passion for the craft!
