Underworld 5 gets a new name, new cast, and a returning Charles Dance
Underworld series creator Len Wiseman and star Kate Beckinsale may have gotten a divorce last year, but not even the death of their love is enough to stop the eternal war between vampires and “lycans.” Thus, a fifth Underworld movie has been in the works for a while, with Beckinsale once again starring and frequent Roland Emmerich cinematographer Anna Foerster on board to direct. We previously reported that Sherlock‘s Lara Pulver had signed on for an undisclosed role, and now Dread Central has some more details on the sequel/reboot.
For starters, the movie will officially be titled Underworld: Blood Wars, and it will probably revolve around some kind of blood-related dispute between vampires and lycans. There are also a few new cast members who have joined the project, including Outlander’s Tobias Menzies, Game Of Thrones’ James Faulkner, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’s Clementine Nicholson, Damien’s Bradley James, and Fallen’s Daisy Head. They’ll be joining Theo James and Charles Dance, who will be reprising the roles they played in 2012’s Underworld: Awakening (the dully named vampires David and Thomas).
