Fathom's 20th-anniversary rerelease of V For Vendetta gets a new trailer

Fathom’s Vice President of Marketing Shannah Miller said in a statement, “The award-winning V For Vendetta graphic novel led to one of the most provocative films in the early 2000s. Twenty years later, V For Vendetta still asks the questions that matter: About freedom, identity, and who gets to speak up. Fathom is thrilled to bring this great movie back to theatres, featuring an exclusive new conversation with director James McTeigue for a whole new generation of audiences.” 

Reviewing for The A.V. Club in 2006, Keith Phipps said the Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving film was “a compelling, visually striking political mystery with some big ideas woven into it—subversive notions about integrity, liberty, and political change. And though it stutters in getting it out, the film clearly means what it says.”

The trailer features new music from Jonathan Snipes of the experimental hip-hop group clipping, who offers a sugary take on Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture (a dramatically important piece of music in the film), a quirky, glitchy, squiggly piece that only partially undercuts the oomph of the movie’s imagery.
