Good American Family (Hulu, Wednesday, 12:01 a.m.)

The infamous Natalia Grace saga is tackled in Good American Family, in which Ellen Pompeo and Mark Duplass play a married couple who adopt a child (portrayed by Imogen Faith Reid)—only to realize she may be lying about her age and identity. Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue, and Dulé Hill co-star. Check out The A.V. Club‘s review on Wednesday.


Happy Face (Paramount+, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

Based on Melissa Moore’s autobiography and podcast, Happy Face details the story of how she discovered her father was the Happy Face Killer. In the series, which hails from Robert and Michelle King, that murderous dad (Dennis Quaid) attempts to reconnect with Melissa (Annaleigh Ashford) years after this discovery. James Wolk, David Harewood, Damon Gupton, and Momona Tamada round out the cast. The A.V. Club‘s review publishes on Monday.


The Residence (Netflix, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

In The Residence, the latest series from Shondaland, Uzo Aduba takes on an eccentric detective who is called to the White House when someone is killed during a state dinner. Everyone is, of course, a suspect, and the show’s ensemble features Randall Park, Ken Marino, Susan Kelechi Watson, Giancarlo Esposito, Taran Killam, and Jane Curtin. Look for The A.V. Hyper Knife (Hulu, Wednesday, 12:01 a.m.)

The South Korean drama Hyper Knife follows a disgraced neurosurgeon (played by Extraordinary Attorney Woo‘s Park Eun-bin) who performs groundbreaking but illegal surgeries—until a run-in with her former mentor makes her question everything.


O’Dessa (Hulu, Thursday, 12:01 a.m.)

O’dessa, a musical drama set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, centers on farm girl (portrayed by Sadie Sink) who goes on an epic quest to recover a family heirloom and save her one true love. Kelvin Harrison Jr., Regina Hall, and Murray Bartlett also star.


Ludwig (Britbox, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

This British detective dramedy chronicles John “Ludwig” Taylor (David Mitchell), who is determined to find his missing twin brother. To do so, he assumes his sibling’s identity, including his challenging job as the DCI of a major crimes unit.
