Despite all the marketing, the film world never makes it easy to be an Oscar completionist. For every easy-access Netflix film or massive blockbuster smash, there’s a teeny-tiny film with minimal distribution that snuck its way into the awards race thanks to its own merits rather than any substantial financial backing. And that’s great! The problem is finding it so that you can actually watch it. If you’re not a professional film critic, that can be difficult, so, to help with your preparation, The A.V. Club collected where to watch all the 2026 Oscar nominees.
This list only tracks the feature-film nominees, because, if the big-name films seem hard to find, the shorts—which quietly screen for an even more insular community—usually don’t make it far from the film festivals they typically premiere at. Though some of the short film nominees are available online for free (usually the documentaries), the best and most reliable way to find them all is in the theater, thanks to Roadside Attractions’ program.
Though most of these streamable films are also available to rent, our list has prioritized the services that you may already have a subscription to, in order to eliminate any kind of accidental double-dipping. As the Oscars approach, some of these will become more widely available, so when in doubt, check out your local arthouse’s listings.
