Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste
Coyote Vs. Acme had a very good lawyer in Will Forte, who went to war on behalf of his slighted client after the Looney Tunes film was slashed by Warner Bros. for a tax write-off in 2023. Very likely due, at least in part, to the star’s ceaseless advocacy, the hybrid live-action/animated adventure was rescued from living out the rest of its days on a dusty Warner Bros. shelf by indie studio Ketchup Entertainment in March. Now, real life humans will actually get to see the project—which also stars John Cena and Lana Condor—some time in 2026.
Despite this unequivocal victory, Forte is keeping himself on retainer. “I’m gonna promote the crap out of it, just tell me what you want me to do and I’ll go, I’ll do whatever—go to the top of Mount Everest, I’m there,” he recently told The Hollywood Reporter.
As for his own feelings about the film’s changed sentence, “words cannot describe” Forte’s emotions. “I never thought it would happen so it just came out of nowhere and I’m so thrilled,” he said. “Thank you Ketchup Entertainment, I’m so excited for people to see this movie.”
In February, before the anvil was removed from atop the film’s head, Forte denounced Warner Bros.’ decision as “fucking bullshit” in an interview with MovieWeb. “It is such a delightful movie. It deserves so much better than it got. I can’t tell you possibly why the decision was made to not release it. But it makes my blood boil.” Luckily, the only thing making his blood boil now will be that hike to the top of Mount Everest to extol the film’s virtues.
