It’s been almost four years since Yeah Yeah Yeahs released their 2009 album, It’s Blitz!, but the band announced today via Twitter that its as-yet-unnamed next LP will come out sometime in the spring of 2013. The tweet also mentions something about “DNA upgrades” and “spontaneous evolution,” though it’s unclear whether that has anything to do with the album, or whether Karen O was just thinking out loud. (Ditto with the picture simultaneously posted on the group’s Instagram, featuring what looks like someone taking a lightsaber to a giant chicken.)
