2 men have been arrested for the murder of XXXTentacion
According to a report from the Associated Press, police in Florida have now arrested two men for the murder of rapper XXXTentacion. The first is Dedrick Williams, who has apparently told his lawyer that he intends to enter a guilty plea, and the other is Michael Boatwright, who was arrested last week on an unrelated drug charge. Authorities say that robbery was the motive for the shooting, which happened back in June, but they’re reportedly looking for a third “person of interest” named Robert Allen who may know things about the murder.
While XXXTentacion’s death was met with an outpouring of support from other musicians and fans, he had been facing more than a dozen felony charges related to aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering. His ex-girlfriend, Geneva Ayala, set up a GoFundMe page to help cover medical costs from injuries he had allegedly caused, and she managed to raise several thousand dollars just hours after XXXTentacion’s death.
