November's Blu-ray and 4K releases take us to Versailles, a Georgia plantation, and off-planet

Lots of familiar favorites are on this November’s physical media release calendar as we enter that all-important window of peak consumerism: the holiday shopping season. Keep an eye out for new editions of classics that both tug at our heartstrings and remind us of cinema’s storied history. Read on and find films from Sophie Coppola, Frank Capra, Hal Ashby, and more.

Gone With The Wind 4K (Available on November 3, 2026)

It is a truth universally acknowledged that you can never have too many editions of Gone With The Wind. The 1939 David O. Selznick classic is getting the full 4K restoration treatment this month, with not one, not two, but three new releases: a standard 4K Blu-ray, a 4K Blu-ray Steelbook, and a fancy collector’s edition Steelbook. Extras include three new featurettes that detail the complex restoration process, the film’s continued cinematic influence in popular culture, and the trailblazing figure of Scarlett O’Hara.

Harold And Maude 4K (Available on November 3, 2026)

The cult classic dark comedy stars Bud Cort as a weird young man obsessed with death who finds a kindred spirit (and a taboo romantic relationship) in a lively septuagenarian (Ruth Gordon) he meets at a funeral. The film has been out of print for a few years but is now getting a reissue courtesy of the Criterion Collection. The two-disc set will include a full 4K restoration of the unrated international version of the film, along with an alternate sound mix, a new introduction by film programmer and critic Dennis Lim, archival documentaries and interviews, and deleted scenes and outtakes, all with a new sound mix by Dean Hurley.

Marie Antoinette 4K (Available on November 10, 2026)

Sofia Coppola’s candy-colored, wildly anachronistic biopic of the infamous French queen is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a style Marie Antoinette would have approved of, complete with an exhibition at the Petit Trianon at the Palace Of Versailles and a lush Criterion Collection 4K restoration. The two-disc set is full of special features, including new selected-scene commentary from star Kirsten Dunst, and new interviews with Coppola, director of photography Lance Acord, costume designer Milena Canonero, and production designer KK Barrett.

The Right Stuff 4K (Available on November 24, 2026)

A love letter to the early days of the U.S. space program and the researchers and astronauts that made it possible, The Right Stuff was a commercial bomb when it first released in theaters, but it went on to snag eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Supporting Actor for Sam Shepard’s performance as test pilot Chuck Yeager. Now it’s getting the full Criterion Collection treatment, with a new 4K restoration, new features on the film’s visual effects, sound design, and editing, and archival excerpts with director Philip Kaufman from the Academy Film Archive’s Visual History program.

It’s A Wonderful Life 4K (Available on November 24, 2026)

Frank Capra’s classic It’s A Wonderful Life is the quintessential holiday film for a reason, thanks to its timeless message about the power of community and ways that one man’s life can impact those around him for the better. To celebrate its 80th anniversary—which is also probably the reason Jimmy Stewart is getting his own weird biopic this month—the film is getting a snazzy new 4K release, which will come bundled with a keepsake book The Heart Of It’s A Wonderful Life: How The Most Inspirational Movie Of All Time Still Inspires The Spirit by original cast member Jimmy Hawkins, who played little Tommy Bailey.
