Christian Bale would still like to be in a Star Wars, if anybody has a spot for him
With the way they’re handing out minor Star Wars cameos these days, it seems like pretty much everyone who’s anyone can be in one of these movies if they want to—whether they’re a prince or a close friend of J.J. Abrams. Christian Bale isn’t just a prince or a close friend of J.J. Abrams, though, and he has bigger aspirations when it comes to Star Wars. Just about a year ago, we reported that Bale was in the running to play Han Solo’s mentor in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Bale says he’s still hoping to work something out with Lucasfilm and Kathleen Kennedy.
He said as much in a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via Collider), implying that he may have turned down the Solo role for some undisclosed reason. Either way, he says he’s a big Star Wars fan and he’d be interested in joining the series someday. He even notes that he has a Millennium Falcon and an AT-AT (toys, presumably, though those Batman movies probably paid pretty well), and he reveals that his daughter has “absolutely adored” Darth Maul ever since she saw someone playing the character at Disneyland.
Luckily for Christian Bale, there’s still a ton of Star Wars movies in the works that he could eventually appear in. Of course, that’s ignoring the fact that Christian Bale already been in one of the most iconic Star Wars-related movie scenes of all time:
