Despite being one of the most heavy-handed approaches to generating hype for a superhero movie—second only to Sony’s attempt to use “It’s Morbin’ Time” to justify a theatrical rerelease for Morbius, maybe—the mystery of who Adria Arjona is playing in the DC Studios sequel, Man Of Tomorrow, continues. Some say she’s playing Maxima, Warrior Queen Of Almerac, which, sure, would be fine. Others reason that Maxima’s hardly a character worth all this subterfuge. Those others are talking sense; in an age of production super-secrecy, why would Maxima, a third-tier Justice Leaguer whose heyday peaked in the 1990s, warrant all this cloak-and-dagger nonsense? Also, why would Arjona be working out to night-Amazonian extremes if she weren’t playing, well, an Amazon? Also, why does it matter so much? Wouldn’t the news that Wonder Woman is in the Superman sequel be worth more than rumors that she may be in it?
