Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste

Thank god it’s (freakier) Friday. Disney is continuing the trend of dropping new Freakier Friday news on the freakiest day of the week with a brand new trailer. The first trailer for the upcoming sequel was mostly just references to the 2003’s Freaky Friday, but this one reveals a bit more of the new film’s actual plot. Anna (Lindsay Lohan) is the one getting married this time, to a man (Manny Jacinto) with a daughter, Lily (Sophia Hammons), her own daughter, Harper (Julia Butters), hates. Well, we all know how to solve that problem! This time, however, it’s not just the girls who swap. For some reason, Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are also involved.

As you may have guessed, the two Gen Z girls magically take over Lohan and Curtis’ bodies, giving the once-and-current co-stars a fun new challenge to play with: acting the same age. It’s not either of their actual ages, of course, which leads to a lot of gags throughout the clip as the adult women twirl their hair and accidentally flirt with men half their age. Chad Michael Murray is also back as part of the girls’ silly plan to reunite Anna with her first love and break their parents up for good. Maybe this time they’ll actually pull it off, and Lohan and Curtis will get to act like teens forever. As we all know, only selfless love can change them back.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Vanessa Bayer, and Mark Harmon also appear in the film, albeit (presumably) in their own bodies. Freakier Friday premieres August 8 in theaters.
