Jessica Chastain is on the case—this time with twang—in Heartland first look

If there’s a case, you better hope to get Jessica Chastain on it. She caught Osama bin Laden, and, hopefully, one day she’ll be able to crack the case of the missing Savant. But in the meantime, she’ll be Misty Jones, a former country star with a missing niece. This is Chastain’s role in the upcoming Netflix movie Heartland, for which the streamer released a first look this morning. We don’t know a ton about this movie, which comes out in about three months, though that seems to be how Netflix works. We do know that Heartland is directed by Shana Feste, best known for Country Strong, a movie you may remember as one of Gwyneth Paltrow’s scattered musical endeavors. We’ll have to wait and see whether Feste gets Chastain on the mic in-between her crime solving.

The official synopsis for Heartland reads:

Former country megastar, Misty Jones, comes out of seclusion to investigate the disappearance of her missing niece, a rising country musician, and must grapple with her own past and Nashville’s seedy underbelly. Her search uncovers a murky side of Nashville where no one, including Misty, is who they seem.

Heartland also stars Garrett Hedlund, Carter Faith, Ross Lynch, Jennifer Nettles, and John Hawkes. The film premieres on Netflix on November 13. Take a look at some first-look photos below.
