The new season of King Of The Hill is set 15 years after the events of the show’s first outing. “After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane,” a synopsis reads.
Mike Judge returns as the voice of Hank, and Pamela Adlon is also back as the voice of a now-adult Bobby. Other returning cast members include Kathy Najimy (Peggy Hill), Stephen Root (Bill Dauterive), and Lauren Tom (Connie). CBR reports that Johnny Hardwick (Dale) had completed some voice work for the character before his death in 2023, but that the role will be played by Toby Huss moving forward.
Jonathan Joss, who was murdered in Texas in an alleged hate crime earlier this month, was also a member of King Of The Hill‘s ensemble. “Jonathan brought King Of The Hill‘s ‘John Redcorn’ to life for over a dozen seasons, including in the upcoming revival,” showrunners Mike Judge, Greg Daniels, and Saladin Patterson wrote in a tribute on Instagram. “His voice will be missed at King Of The Hill, and we extend our deepest condolences to Jonathan’s friends and family.”
King Of The Hill premieres on Hulu August 4.
