Nick Offerman will not stand to see Ron Swanson's image used for bigotry

“Just wanted to post how I feel about ‘pride’ month,” Flynn posted Sunday, alongside a gif that had been edited to make it look like Ron was throwing the rainbow flag into a dumpster. To this, Offerman replied: “Ron was best man at a gay wedding you dumb fuck. #HappyPride.” 

If you’re racking your brain to recall Ron getting close enough with anyone to stomach the duties required of a best man, the sweet moment comes in the series finale when he presents his barber and unlikely friend, Typhoon (Rodney To), with the rings for his wedding to gregarious parks department staffer, Craig (Billy Eichner). At the same time, the Parks And Recreation cast has been processing the death of former castmate Jonathan Joss, whose husband said yesterday was the result of a homophobic attack. “The cast has been texting together about it all day and we’re just heartbroken,” Offerman wrote in a statement to People. “Jonathan was such a sweet guy and we loved having him as our Chief Ken Hotate. A terrible tragedy.”
