As if there weren’t already enough tabloid speculation surrounding Blake Lively’s latest project Another Simple Favor, Sharon Stone has thrown her hat into the ring with a claim that she was cut from the film. It’s certainly within the realm of possibility, but Variety notes that there were never any reports about her being cast in the film in the first place.
“I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all LOVED it,” Stone wrote in the comments of an Instagram Reel about Another Simple Favor shared by E! News (via Variety). Reps for the film did not immediately respond to The A.V. Club’s request for comment.
While Stone didn’t offer any other information about the purported role, both A Simple Favor and Another Simple Favor have fairly large supporting casts featuring characters who are just briefly in the movie. It wouldn’t be out of the question for Stone to have landed one of these roles, as Jean Smart, Linda Cardellini, or Patti Harrison did in the first movie. In any case, Stone recently joined the cast for the third season of Euphoria, which against all odds appears to now be in production. “There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent,” she said when cast in the season. “From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric.”
