Sons Of Anarchy's Sarah Jones takes the lead in J.J. Abrams' Alcatraz
Sarah Jones, recently seen as the ne’er-do-well daughter of a white separatist leader in Sons Of Anarchy, has landed the female lead in J.J. Abrams’ Alcatraz, the Fox pilot about a team of FBI agents attempting to unravel the mystery of why a group of prisoners and guards disappeared years ago and then reappeared in modern times, other than the fact that they’re on a J.J. Abrams show. Should Alcatraz make it to air, Jones will join a list of under-the-radar actresses who first broke out on Abrams shows, like Felicity’s Keri Russell, Alias’ Jennifer Garner, and Lost’s Evangeline Lily, or she could end up like poor Gugu Mbatha-Raw from Undercovers. Anyway, Jones will play “Rebecca Madsen, a smart, thoughtful, and a little obsessive police officer” in a cast that, as previously announced, so far includes Lost alum Jorge Garcia as a “hippie geek.” Who’s going to play the sarcastic, skeptical misanthrope who nevertheless gets the job done? Is Josh Holloway only doing movies now?
