AMC audaciously greenlights second season of The Audacity ahead of premiere

Even ahead of its premiere, AMC’s forthcoming series The Audacity has garnered quite a bit of attention. The series is set to be an exploration of Silicon Valley founder culture, and stars Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, and Zach Galifianakis. It certainly sounds and looks promising, and AMC is also clearly confident in its potential. The premium cable network announced today that it had already greenlit The Audacity for a second season ahead of the series world premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas.

“From the start, The Audacity exists because Kristin Dolan, Dan McDermott, and AMC Networks decided that ‘playing it safe’ is vastly overrated,” says creator Jonathan Glatzer in a press statement. “They’ve enabled me and our fearless cast to dive headfirst into the deep recesses of some beautifully flawed characters, all set against the backdrop of Silicon Valley, which only happens to have the power to shape how we work, argue, date, doomscroll, etc. And now, with this second season pick-up, AMC Networks has stood by their conviction with this wholly original satire. As The Audacity‘s creator, I could not be more grateful, but also as a fan of original and slightly dangerous stories, I am ecstatic.”

Glatzer previously worked on Succession, and his experience with that rich person satire certainly appears to have set him up well for that one. For those who won’t be at SXSW this year, The Audacity premieres on AMC on Sunday, April 12.
