New Miniature Wife trailer reveals how the wife got so small

In Downsizing, the process of shrinking someone was a fairly complex, surgical procedure. In the world of The Miniature Wife, it’s more like something from Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, but even faster. It’s actually pretty easy to mistakenly be shrunk down to just a few inches tall. This is due to the research of Les (Matthew MacFadyen), a man who seems to really want a Nobel to compete with his wife Lindy’s (Elizabeth Banks) Pulitzer. Jealousy between partners can lead people to the worst places, and, in this case, it’s led Lindy into a life in a doll house. At least Les’ invention works, and at least he seems sympathetic to his now-very-tiny wife’s situation, where she risks being swallowed by a Roomba and is forced to fight a housefly with a makeshift bow and arrow.

The Miniature Wife is based on a short story by Manuel Gonzales, published in 2014. Aside from MacFadyen and Banks, the series will star O-T Fagbenle, Zoe Lister-Jones, Sian Clifford, Sofia Rosinsky, Ronny Chieng, and Aasif Mandvi. The series will run for ten episodes, all of which will be available on Peacock on April 9.
