The biggies

SNL50: The Anniversary Special (NBC, Sunday, 8 p.m.)

Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night Live‘s landmark 50th-anniversary special! This three-hour episode brings a whole bunch of former cast members back to Studio 8H, including Garrett Morris, Amy Poehler, Will Ferrell, Chevy Chase, Adam Sandler, Jane Curtin, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, and Tracy Morgan, among others. Previous SNL hosts and musical guests also drop in to toast the show. Be sure to check out The A.V. Club‘s recap of the evening early Monday morning.

The White Lotus (HBO, Sunday, 9 p.m.)

It’s time to check into The White Lotus again. Mike White’s anthology jets to Thailand for another tale of rich folks on vacation and stars the likes of Parker Posey, Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, and Tayme Thapthimthong. Natasha Rothwell reprises her season-one role too. The A.V. Club will recap the show each week.

Zero Day (Netflix, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

Robert De Niro heads to Netflix for the political thriller Zero Day, leading as a former POTUS tasked with stopping a global cyberattack. Homeland‘s Lesli Linka Glatter directs all six episodes of the show, which co-stars Angela Bassett, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, and Connie Britton. The A.V. Club‘s review publishes on Thursday.

Win Or Lose (Disney+, Wednesday, 3:01 a.m.)

Pixar’s Win Or Lose centers on a middle-school softball team as they prepare for the big championship game, with each installment showing different players’s POV. The series is mired in controversy, as THR reported last year that Disney+ cut a transgender character’s storyline, prompting actor Chanel Stewart to express her disapproval of the decision. The voice cast also includes Will Forte, Ian Chen, Izaac Weng, Rosa Salazar, and Rhea Seehorn. The A.V. Club‘s review publishes on Wednesday.

Good Cop/Bad Cop (The CW, Wednesday, 9 p.m.)

Leighton Meester leads this warm and funny procedural as a small-town detective who’s forced to team up with her brother (played by Luke Cook) and answer to her police-chief dad (portrayed by Clancy Brown). Check out The A.V. Club‘s review.

A Thousand Blows (Hulu, Friday, 12:01 a.m.)

Peaky Blinders‘ Steven Knight cooks up another bloody period drama, A Thousand Blows, which follows two best friends (played by Malachi Kirby and Francis Lovehall) who move from Jamaica to London and square off against Stephen Graham’s dangerous, veteran boxer. The A.V. Club‘s review publishes on Monday.
