Welcome to the weekend edition of What’s On. Here are the big things happening on TV from Friday, Nov 17 to Sunday, Nov 19. All times are Eastern. [Note: The weekly What’s On publishes on Sundays.]

1. Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters brings back Godzilla

Apple TV+, Friday, 12:01 a.m.: Set in San Francisco after Godzilla’s war with the MUTOs, Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters is a MonsterVerse show that follows a secret organization as it hunts down, yes, monsters. Monarch is also a generation-spanning family saga, with real-life father-son duo Kurt and Wyatt Russell playing the same character in different decades. The cast of the 10-episode season also includes Anna Sawai, Joe Tippett, Anders Holm, Kiersey Clemons, Mari Yamamoto, and Ren Watabe. Here’s a bit from The A.V. Club’s review:

Hopping between the timelines gives Monarch a lot of opportunities for stories that mirror each other, with a thing happening in the past that is relevant or similar to a thing happening in the future. But the timelines aren’t switched often enough for it to feel like a cheap gimmick.

2. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off as an anime

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: The 2010 film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, based on Bryan O’Malley’s graphic novels, gets a fresh treatment in the form of an anime series. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off brings back everyone from the movie to voice their characters, including Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alison Pill, Brie Larson, Chris Evans, Satya Bhabha, and Anna Kendrick. Get the garlic bread ready for your binge.

3. Please Don’t Destroy presents The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain

Peacock, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: Saturday Night Live’s Please Don’t Destroy guys (Ben Marshall, Martin Herlihy, and John Higgins) venture beyond late-night sketch comedy for this feature film they co-wrote and produced. The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain finds the trio as aimless childhood friends who set off on an adventure to dig up gold. Conan O’Brien, Bowen Yang, Meg Stalter, and X Mayo also appear.

4. Jason Momoa gears up for Saturday Night Live

NBC, Saturday, 11:30 p.m.: Speaking of Saturday Night Live, this weekend’s new episode is hosted by Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa, who’s joined by musical guest Tate McRae. Look for The A.V. Club’s recap on Sunday.

5. Colman Domingo leads Rustin

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: Colman Domingo stars in Rustin, a biopic about civil-rights activist Bayard Rustin, an advisor to Martin Luther King Jr. who, as an openly gay Black man, was all but erased from the movement he fought for. The cast includes Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Audra McDonald, Glynn Turman, Chris Rock, Aml Ameen, and Jeffrey Wright. Check out The A.V. Club’s review.
