Will Ferrell producing film that is as close to a Party Down reunion as you're likely to get
Those still captivated by Lizzy Caplan’s siren song of a Party Down reunion will only find themselves steered into the rocks, but there is some hope for those hoping to see Caplan romanced by Adam Scott again. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing the comedy Bachelorette, which will find Caplan playing a girl with “a Playboy Bunny body with a Larry David brain” (Hollywood: Your next great body-swapping comedy awaits) who reconnects with her teenage crush (Scott) when he shows up at the wedding of a mutual friend. Caplan and Kristen Dunst—described as “crisp and severe,” the kind of girl you wish would get crushed by a planet—are there as bridesmaids to a girl they used to call “Pigface” in high school, who will be played bravely by ex-SNL star Casey Wilson. Bachelorette will no doubt find all of them reexamining their hopes and dreams, rehashing old feuds and feelings, and generally coming to terms with the bitterness of a life unfulfilled, all while getting wasted and cracking jokes about each other. In short, you could probably just treat it as a surrogate Party Down reunion, and maybe use it to move on finally.
