Happy Monday! Freaky Friday 2 is officially in production
The sequel to the beloved Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan film hits theaters sometime in 2025

Round and round, here we go again! After months and months (and months) of teasing, Freaky Friday 2 is officially in production and has its eye on a 2025 premiere date. Look out for earthquakes, L.A., and maybe avoid fortune cookies too, unless you’re ready for a perspective-shifting experiment in seeing the world through someone else’s eyes.
Disney confirmed that today was the first day of filming with a photo showing original body swap stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan holding hands in front of their respective trailers. But there’s a twist! Whether or not this was intentional, the two actors are actually sitting in front of each other’s trailers—we see you, Disney!
Disney also finally released an official synopsis in a press release sent out today. It reads: “A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”
