Samuel L. Jackson spins off into the Taylor Sheridan-verse in first teaser for Frisco King

The Taylor Sheridan television universe of manly men doing charismatically violent things in the American West expands its indomitable reach on December 18, as Samuel L. Jackson takes his ever-smooth criminal act from Tulsa all the way to Frisco. That’s Frisco, Texas, and not San Francisco, as Jackson’s former(?) hitman Russell Lee Washington, Jr. takes leave of his Tulsa King mobster pal Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone, making a prominent cameo in the teaser trailer) to set up shop in the deceptively crime-ridden tiny Texas town.

According to the trailer, Jackson’s erstwhile New Orleans player relishes in his newfound stomping ground, as he greets one character’s observation, “This feels pretty criminal,” with a signature Samuel L. Jackson, “And..?” From there, Frisco King makes the case for its own Sheridan franchise with big stacks of cash, Kangol hats, the occasional explosion, and Jackson’s good-bad guy taunting a young would-be rival by asking, “You want a gangster, huh? Not so sure now, are you?,” while holding a big stack of cash.

The Sheridan, Jackson, and Stallone executive produced Frisco King debuts on Paramount+ on December 18 and also features Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann.
