Back when Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Netflix show first premiered in 2023, nobody would’ve expected that the cast would get an Oscar upgrade by the time it returned. And yet the FUBAR season two first look boasts the newly minted Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro. In two years she went from Schwarzenegger’s super spy daughter to cinema’s Joan Baez. Life comes at you fast!
The series is also getting a Matrix boost with the addition of Carrie Ann Moss, as seen in the FUBAR season two first look photos (below). Moss plays Greta Nelso, “a former East German spy who has a passionate history with Luke.” According to the Netflix synopsis for the latest installment, “Luke Brunner is a veteran CIA operative who, up until recently, was on the verge of retirement. After his last mission in saving another operative – who just so happened to be his daughter – he’s back and face to face with new villains. This one is an old flame from Luke’s past who threatens to destroy the world…if she doesn’t destroy his life first.”
The action-comedy’s creator Nick Santora told Netflix’s Tudum that the new season is “bananas” and has “some real fun surprises for FUBAR fans.” The gang has “a million things they’re going to have to deal with” in the upcoming episodes, like analyst Tina (Aparna Brielle) secretly working undercover. “In Season 2, we’re going to go in knowing there might be a rat in the kitchen. And what are they going to do about that?” Santora teased. And with the agents’ identities exposed, “they’re in deep dog doo-doo, for sure. They’re in trouble.” The series, which also stars Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, and Jay Baruchel, returns to Netflix on June 12. You can check out the FUBAR season two first look below.
