Set aside some money now for Parks And Recreation: The Book
NBC’s Parks And Recreation has already spawned some essential reading material in the “Ron Swanson Pyramid Of Greatness,” and now co-creator Mike Schur is looking to expand on that library with the tie-in book Pawnee: The Greatest Town In America, due out October 4. Created during that interminable downtime before the show resumed filming the current season and America shot daggers out of its eyes at Outsourced, the book is an expanded version of the one Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope created for the recent time capsule episode, with contributions from every character both major and minor—including folks like Ben Schwartz’s unctuous Jean-Ralphio and even Fred Armisen’s one-off visiting dignitary. Schur describes the book as part history, part travel guide, (with) sections on raccoons, Eagleton, Joan Calamezzo, Crazy Ira and the Douche—basically everything that's ever appeared in the show.” Considering the standard set by most other movie and TV tie-in books, it could pretty much be a Ron Swanson guide to caning a chair and it would still be worth your time.
