Paramount announces release dates for sequels to Terminator: Genisys
Terminator: Genisys—the movie with the title that is still spelled like that—isn’t even out yet, but Paramount is already getting ready to turn it into a trilogy. After all, anything that’s not a trilogy might as well be garbage, and Paramount doesn’t want to spend all of this money getting Arnold Schwarzenegger to “act” like a robot again if it can’t replicate the (presumed) success multiple times. Anyway, Genisys opens in July of next year, and its first sequel—which we’re going to call Terminator Genisys 2: Judgemynt Day—will be in theaters on May 19, 2017. Rounding out the trilogy is the movie that we’re pretending is called Terminatyr Genisys 3: Ryse Of Thy Machynys, which will be released on June 29, 2018.
This comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which says the two sequels will be filmed back-to-back. That way, the studio doesn’t need to worry about ancient old man Arnold Schwarzenegger getting any older in between movies. Also, it’s important to point out that, as THR says, this is all “provided Genisys works.” By the time the first installment of this Terminator reboot comes out, mankind might have already been enslaved by an army of robots. If that’s the case, nobody’s going to want to march out into the radioactive wasteland just to pay for something they can see for free.
