The biggies

The Oscars (ABC, Sunday, 8 p.m.)

Conan O’Brien hosts the 97th annual Academy Awards, which promise musical performances by Oscar nominees Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, as well as Queen Latifah, Doja Cat, RAYE, and Blackpink’s Lisa. As for the awards themselves, check out our picks for who will and should win.


Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+, Tuesday, 9:01 p.m.)

Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) rivalry carries on in Daredevil: Born Again. The show moves from Netflix to Disney+ for its de-facto fourth season, with original cast members Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Jon Bernthal, Wilson Bethel, and Ayelet Zurer all returning.  (Oh, the series also ties into the larger MCU universe.) The A.V. Club will recap Born Again weekly.


Deli Boys (Hulu, Thursday, 12:01 a.m.)

In the violent comedy Deli Boys, two Pakistani-American brothers (played by Saagar Shaikh and Asif Ali) are forced into a life of crime after learning that their recently deceased father was using the family’s successful convenience-store chain to smuggle drugs. The cast includes Poorna Jagannathan, Alfie Fuller, Brian George, Tim Baltz, and Kevin Corrigan. Look for The A.V. Club‘s review on Monday.

Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue (MGM+, Sunday, 9 p.m.)

Anthony Horowitz’s thriller chronicles the survivors of a small plane crash who are stranded in the jungle. When one of them mysteriously dies, the rest band together to figure out who the killer is while trying to find their way back home. Eric McCormick, David Ajala, Peter Gadiot, Lydia Wilson, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson co-star.


Celtics City (HBO, Sunday, 9 p.m.)

Bill Simmons and Connor Schell co-produced this a nine-part docuseries on the Boston Celtics, digging deep into the NBA franchise’s origins, championships, and the city’s highs and lows.


With Love, Meghan (Netflix, Tuesday, 3:01 a.m.)

Meghan Markle’s reality series was supposed to debut in January but got delayed because of the L.A. wildfires. In With Love, Meghan, which is partly inspired by her former blog, she doles out tips and tricks for cooking, crafting, gardening, and other activities alongside the likes of Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, and Roy Choi.


Douglas Is Cancelled (BritBox, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

This four-part British dramedy from Steven Moffat centers on a respected news anchor (played Hugh Bonneville) whose career unravels when he’s accused of making a sexist joke. The A.V. Club‘s review of the miniseries publishes on Monday.
