Quentin Tarantino’s expletive-laden “Like a Virgin” monologue in the first scene of Reservoir Dogs not only announced the arrival of a major new filmmaking talent, it’s also a good conversation starter. Is “Like a Virgin” about dick? Is it about olive oil? Is it a coded message to the Illuminati Madonna used to expedite her application?
Regardless, it’s the beginning of our modern post-Tarantino era, and Coponfilms has paid tribute to this fundamental moment by assembling a montage of Tarantino characters performing a spoken-word rendition Madonna’s number-one hit. This version takes some liberties with the original lyrics, but “shitty” probably fits better than “shiny” in the Tarantino-verse anyway.
