James Franco may bring his Franconess to porn biopic
James Franco’s senior thesis concept “James Franco” is in discussions to play pornographer Chuck Traynor, former husband/manager to both Marilyn Chambers and Linda Lovelace, and the man Lovelace accused of forcing her (sometimes at gunpoint) into prostitution and starring roles in films like Deep Throat. Titled Lovelace, the project is based on Eric Danville’s The Complete Linda Lovelace, and is not to be confused with Inferno, the perpetually delayed Lovelace biopic that was deemed too classy for Lindsay Lohan and which was recently handed to Malin Akerman. It remains to be seen whether Inferno will be the Infamous to Lovelace’s Capote, but Lovelace already seems to have a higher pedigree: Directed by Franco’s Howl collaborators Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, it could potentially star Kate Hudson just as soon as she’s done being pregnant, and as far as we know there are no dog-fucking scenes. Should he accept the role, expect Franco to spend the next few months preparing by making an experimental video series where he visits the zoo and violently berates monkeys into doing it.
