MGM is making a thriller about a pregnant woman confined to bed rest
We’re not experts on babies here at The A.V. Club, but we’re pretty sure one of the things you’re not supposed to do when you’re pregnant is star in a Rear Window-style thriller. If you’re not careful, that baby will come out talking just like Jimmy Stewart, and while that’d be really cute for a few years, you’d eventually get tired of hearing “Merry Christmas, you wonderful old Building And Loan” all the time. Apparently, MGM isn’t concerned about that, though, because it has just picked up Bed Rest, a new thriller from first-time screenplay writer Lori Evans Taylor that sounds exactly like that.
Deadline describes Bed Rest as a “Hitchcockian thriller” about a pregnant woman who is “isolated and confined to bed rest.” Based on the Hitchcock reference, though, we think it seems safe to assume that she eventually finds out about something scary going on—or is she just imagining that something scary is going on? We’ll never know! (Until the movie comes out.)
