Jenny McCarthy outbreak spreads to NBC
Only hours after she popped up on VH1, NBC has also come down with Jenny McCarthy, as the new, particularly virulent strain of the former Singled Out emcee returns to its cellular roots with NBC’s Love In The Wild. The dating show—which features couples racing free and unchecked through various obstacle courses, until their romance becomes a burning fever—will mark McCarthy’s first return to the format since the mid-’90s, a recurrence that television recognized as an accepted risk when forgoing inoculation. In a statement, McCarthy humorously compared the show to her own personal journey of being passed from host body to host body, joking, “Everyone knows I’ve looked just about everywhere except the jungle for love. I wanted to apply as a contestant and ended up with a job” before putting a nearby man in a headlock, theatrically shoving him away while pretending to be shocked that he was looking at her breasts, then walking away like a monkey. In a statement, NBC’s mom said that it “knew there was a chance that NBC could catch Jenny McCarthy when we refused the vaccine,” but that “ at least we know our little network won’t catch autism now.”
