Living Room studies physics on a new track
To say that Brooklyn’s Living Room sounds like The Progress (Evan Weiss of Into It. Over It.’s mid-2000s act) would be doing the band a disservice. While much of Living Room’s upcoming album on Jetsam-Flotsam Records, Moonchaser, just so happens to deal in the stop-start rhythms that The Progress did a decade ago, it never feels like it’s intentionally biting the style of the defunct New Jersey band. “The Physics Of Intention,” which The A.V. Club is premiering below, proves that Living Room is focused on carving its own path as it eschews traditional verse-chorus-verse songwriting and instead wrings out new, invigorating hooks with every turn.
Pre-orders for Moonchaser can be found via Jetsam-Flotsam’s store, as well as through its Bandcamp page, and Living Room’s upcoming tour dates can be found beneath “The Physics Of Intention.”
