Prepare to be spoiled by all of the intros and gruesome exits from Game Of Thrones

[The following contains spoilers about characters dying in the HBO show Game Of Thrones.]

Winter is coming and with it comes a remembrance of all the people killed throughout the run of HBO’s Game Of Thrones. George R.R. Martin’s insatiable bloodlust has led to many fans having to bid tearful adieus to some favorite (and not so beloved) characters over the years, with the author usually dispatching them in some cruel and horrific way (though not as horrific as the time when Nicolas Cage was superimposed on all of the characters). Now viewers can see the humble entrances and gruesome exits of all of the characters they’ve grown to love and leave behind as the death toll marches ever onward.

Fernando Andrés has compiled the following video to show a side-by-side comparison of the meager first appearances of the doomed people while also showing their grisly exit from the series. It’s an interesting approach to note how much emotion and activity has progressed between the two scenes, as characters go from one-note creations that could possibly not appear again in the series and transform into complex characters whose deaths affected the audience. Maybe not all of them had a traumatic impact on viewers (sorry, knife in the eye guy!) but they all serve to prove that all men must die, and, in Westeros, humble beginnings can lead to horrific conclusions.
