Syfy adds Buffy, Battlestar Galactica actors to superhero show Three Inches
Syfy is drawing heavily on some beloved cult shows for Three Inches, casting James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Smallville), Stephanie Jacobsen (Battlestar Galactica: Razor), and Naoko Mori (Torchwood) in its new superhero show, which distinguishes itself from all those other superhero-related pilots hoping to succeed where Heroes failed (such as No Ordinary Family and The Cape) by following superheroes who aren’t all that super. Borrowing a page from Mystery Men, the show features a group of people endowed with mostly shrug-worthy powers, such as the ability to move things telekinetically—but only three inches at a time, hence its dick-joke-evoking title—to replicate any sound, and to influence other people’s emotions. Marsters will play the team leader, though it hasn’t been announced what power he will possess. Given the fact that he’s also been cast on the Hawaii Five-O reboot as the main villain, we’re going to go with the power of hedging his bets.
