Harmon is once again on board as showrunner, while all of the principal cast members—save Donald Glover and Chevy Chase replacement Jonathan Banks—signed on just before their contracts were set to expire, alongside producers Chris McKenna, Russ Krasnoff, and Gary Foster. Harmon also offered some words, saying, “I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo. I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!”
(It’s unknown as yet exactly when the young ladies exchanging sexual favors for rides on the Bang Bus will have to begin worrying about competing with the multilayered meta humor and pop culture references of a canceled cult TV show. But from what we know of Bang Bus, they shouldn’t worry, because their boyfriends will never find out.)
According to Vulture’s sources, the production budget for Community’s sixth season on Yahoo shouldn’t be all that different than the one it had for its NBC run. So probably, everything should be about the same, except maybe the characters suddenly won’t recognize the word “Google.”
To celebrate Community being saved by the Internet, you might consider, just this one time, posting Community quotes on the Internet.
