Reminder: Cloud Atlas for July. Also, a heads-up on August's pick
Thanks to all who participated in June's Wrapped Up In Books discussion on Philip K. Dick's A Scanner Darkly, the first of two readers' picks for this summer. As a reminder, we'll be continuing with the readers'-choice theme by delving into David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas, starting on Monday, July 26. You picked it, so we hope you'll join us in reading it.
On Monday, August 30, we get back to staff picks via Keith Phipps' latest choice. He's selected Martin Dressler: The Tale Of An American Dreamer by Stephen Millhauser. Here's what he has to say about it: "It's a tale of American success at the end of the 19th century. It also features an unusual hotel. And that's all I really should say about it right now, except to note that it will probably remind you of a collaboration between Horatio Alger and Jorge Luis Borges, and I think you'll enjoy it." (Man, what a tease. Now we have to read the book to find out what he won't tell us.)
