Four disabled Israeli veteran soldier participants in the non-profit program, Golshim L'Chaim-Ski To Live, tell their stories, from injured to empowered, through their one week experience in Aspen, CO. As guests of the local Jewish community, they overcome the adversity of their various physical limitations and learn to ski and snowboard, and are able to temporarily taste the freedom from being handicapped, and forget they are different. Their reactions to the experience are inspiring and enlightening. the gift they give those they touch far exceeds what they receive. I got involved with the program and decided to tell this story because these young men are the inspiration for my own challenge of surviving breast cancer, and the ability to move forward from the fear.
