Hüsker Dü is now selling merch, and that’s all, so chill
Minneapolis punk band Hüsker Dü imploded in a fit of acrimony and long-simmering bad blood back in 1988, bad blood that seemed to never dry up. You’d think three dudes with an album named Zen Arcade would take a more calm and forgiving approach to life, but years of bad-mouthing one another in the press (primarily singer-guitarist Bob Mould and drummer Grant Hart) pretty much guaranteed the band was done for good. But now, the smallest of advances has got fans in a tizzy: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports the group has communicated internally enough to launch a new official merch site, and that bassist Greg Norton says, “There’s ongoing communication between the three of us now.” Which is leading some to freak out and suggest the band might be reuniting. The A.V. Club would like to point out that, thus far, this ongoing communication has led to a web page where you can buy six T-shirts. Take that as you will.
