Morrissey does his Morrissey thing, cancels another show
In a wholly unexpected twist that absolutely nobody could’ve predicted, Morrissey canceled last night’s sold-out concert in San Antonio after ending a show early in Arizona on Monday. This comes from Stereogum, which says he ended the Monday show after telling the crowd that he had lost his voice, and that the venue for Wednesday’s show posted a statement on its website saying that “health concerns” had forced Morrissey to back out of the gig. Pitchfork notes that Friday’s show—which was supposed to be at Houston’s White Oak Music Hall but moved due to rain—is still on, but there’s plenty of time left for him to cancel that one as well.
Sarcasm aside, this is about the millionth time that Morrissey has canceled a concert, with some of the dates on his current tour even being make-up dates from the last time he canceled shows. Of course, we’ll all feel really bad if his “health concerns” turn out to be a bigger deal than his usual reasoning for canceling shows, but for now we can chalk this up to Morrissey being Morrissey.
