President Obama makes executive decision that Omar is the best character on The Wire
Long before he turned to viral Al Green performances and Spotify playlists to garner the Internet vote, President Obama made a huge overture to the media-savvy by naming The Wire as his favorite TV show, and specifically Omar Little as his favorite character—albeit “not my favorite person.” After several years in office and relentless politicizing of his personal tastes, is Obama still willing to go to bat for a shotgun-toting thief? Oh indeed, and etc.: During a recent appearance on Bill Simmons’ The B.S. Report that, sadly, Andrew Breitbart will never get to comment on now, Obama was asked to settle a debate over the best Wire character, and he replied without hesitation, “It’s got to be Omar, right? I mean, that guy is unbelievable, right? I mean, what a combination. And that was one of the best shows of all time.” And thus was the matter settled by executive decree, and thus did Obama’s opponents gain the ammunition to point out that of course Obama likes the guy who goes around stealing from the city’s job creators. Of course. [via Politico]
