Following the release of its demo (which can be found for free on If You Make It) Philadelphia’s Cayetana was quickly scooped up by Tiny Engines, a label that’s aligning itself with some of punk rock’s best up-and-comers. The band’s newest EP is Hot Dad Calendar, a two-song 7-inch that is both available for pre-order now and furthers how adept Cayetana is at crafting indie-pop songs with hooks that have a cavity-inducing sweetness. The title track has spawned a video, which The A.V. Club is premiering, and starting tomorrow the band will be heading out on a short tour with Waxahatchee and All Dogs.
