Fox is reportedly making a sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service

Despite its ridiculous ending—or maybe because of its ridiculous ending—Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service is getting a sequel. That’s according to “individuals with knowledge of the project” who spoke with The Wrap, at least, because Fox hasn’t made any official announcements about this yet. Since the studio hasn’t acknowledged that this secret sequel—hey, let’s call it Kingsman: The Secret Sequel—exists, that means we don’t know when it will be coming out, whether Vaughn will return to direct, whether Colin Firth will be coming back, whether any other world leaders will have their heads blown off, or whether anyone else will be rewarded with anal sex for saving the world—seriously, click on that link about the ending.

The original Kingsman was based on a comic book written by Mark Millar, but we don’t know if he’ll be quickly writing a sequel that the filmmakers can use a template for this movie, or if Secret Sequel will just be its own original story. On the one hand, the original Kingsman already diverted from the source a lot, but on the other hand, Mark Millar loves writing comic books that become movies the way some people love breathing oxygen. It could go either way.
