HBO is officially adapting The Corrections as a TV series
Proving that it didn’t just "accidentally" leave The Corrections on its coffee table like some dilettantish phony, HBO is officially moving forward with its Noah Baumbach-directed version of Jonathan Franzen’s novel about family dysfunction (his most famous one, anyway). The show is now headed for pilot production with the recently announced Dianne Wiest and Chris Cooper in the lead roles as the parents to a Midwestern brood, each of them disappointing in their own special way. Those younger roles have yet to be cast, but obviously you should expect to hear more about that soon. In the meantime, if you’ve been putting off reading the book and don’t want it forever sullied by HBO’s vision of what everyone looks and sounds like, you’d better hurry up.
