Now you can buy the money pit from The Money Pit
For those who prefer their pop culture-related real estate to come with an annex of irony, the insanely expensive, instantly regrettable property from The Money Pit is now on the market for $12.5 million. The mansion seen in the 1986 comedy is situated in Long Island, but other than that it’s without flaw: Its broker says, “It’s now the anti-Money Pit,” noting that it bears no resemblance to the crumbling sinkhole that claimed Tom Hanks and Shelley Long’s marriage, and that it was totally gutted and remodeled in 2002 by contractors who were not comically lazy and inept.
