In January of 2016, Netflix picked up a show based on Stretch Armstrong, the classic toy that featured a mostly naked man with extendable rubber appendages who was filled with a delicious magical ooze. Now, the streaming service has finally dropped a teaser for that show, and it doesn’t seem to have very much in common with that naked man kids were playing with in the ‘70s. In fact, it looks like the kind of gritty reboot that would’ve been perfectly at home on a Saturday morning in the ‘90s, just before or after those good X-Men and Spider-Man shows. There’s a brief cameo from the old Stretch Armstrong, suggesting he might have some kind of role in the new series, but all we know for sure is that it’ll have teens in BMX suits punching monsters.
Stretch Armstrong And The Flex Fighters will premiere on Netflix later this year.
